What is DomainAlert Pro Backordering?

DomainAlert Pro Backordering lets you monitor a particular domain and, if available, immediately attempts to register it under your name. There is no time restriction for DomainAlert Pro Backorders. We attempt to acquire the domain for you until we successfully capture it or until you remove the backorder.

A DomainAlert Backordering account includes all the functionality and features of DomainAlert Pro, including tracking and notification of any changes to a monitored domain's registrar, status, expiration date, or nameservers.

Am I guaranteed registration of a domain using DomainAlert Pro Backordering?

No, placing a domain on backorder does not guarantee you will acquire the domain. If multiple people place a backorder on the same domain through competing backorder services, we cannot guarantee that our attempt to register the domain name will be successful.

However, using DomainAlert Pro Backording to track a domain can be useful if you want to register a domain that is currently registered by someone else. It keeps you in the loop on that domain's expiration date and any changes to its status. If the domain becomes available, the service immediately attempts to acquire it for you.

If a backordered domain becomes available, but our service fails to acquire it, you can reassign the backorder to another domain. If we are not able to acquire your domain, DomainAlert Pro Backordering notifies you by email message.

Backordering Your Monitored Domains

If you added monitoring to a domain, you can place a backorder on it that will attempt to register the domain for you if it becomes available.

To Backorder a Monitored Domain

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. In the My Products section, click Manage Domains.
3. From the Buy/Sell menu, select Backorders and Monitoring.
4. Select the monitored domain(s) to which you want to add a backorder.
5. Click Upgrade to Backorder.
6. Select one of the following:

   Public Backorder

   Places a public backorder on the domain. If the domain becomes available, we will attempt to register it for you

   Private Backorder

   Places a private backorder on the domain. If the domain becomes available, we attempt to privately register it for you.

7. Click Next.
8. If necessary, edit your contact information.
9. Click Next.
10. Click OK.
